Wings in Fragments
2024, Wooden-Scuplture Fragment Installation, Photography,

Two weathered wooden carvings of wings present as poetic remnants of architectural heritage. Preserved from demolished historical buildings in Taiwan, these ornamental fragments were once integral to traditional house decorations. Now divorced from their original context, they are re-examined through photographic documentation and presentation on blue panels.

The work underscores the tension between presence and absence, highlighting both what endures and what has been irretrievably lost. These architectural fragments serve as metaphors for the fractured nature of historical documentation and cultural memory itself—material traces that speak to both preservation and erasure.
