2021, Artist's book
This book project addresses the exclusion of visually and hearing impaired individuals from conventional print media, aiming to unite them with those who have standard sensory abilities by catering to their unique reading needs.
Visual depictions of sound, like rainfall descriptions, can be abstract for hearing-impaired readers, while visually impaired individuals rely on touch and braille. The book employs experimental methods, incorporating visual signs and onomatopoeia, to bridge these sensory differences.
The work analyzes 23 rainfall recordings, examining their length, loudness, and rhythm, to challenge traditional reading experiences and explore how sensory environments influence comprehension.
